It’s not news to you that even very young children can have big preferences! Begin your party planning by considering your little one’s favorite colors, toys, characters, and foods and how you might be able to incorporate one or more of them into the Birthday Party. Keep it at the top of your list to create an event that lets you and Baby both have a great time as you build a wonderful memory!

If your child is completely attached to a licensed character, you can still control the expenses, starting with your invitations. Choose one of our add-a-photo designs that coordinates with the character’s coloring, and insert a photo of your child holding a plush version of the favored figure. For your party décor, limit licensed items to one or two key pieces, and use solid color accessories in matching colors for the peripherals like balloons and napkins.

When it’s candle time, be ready to intervene in a flash. Young children are as likely to reach for the fire as blow at it! Balloon safety is another concern with the extra-young set. Many recommend using only foil/mylar balloons, as the latex versions can become a choking hazard when they pop. Even then, keep an eye on the hanging ribbons. Staying alert is a constant when caring for babies and toddlers, but it’s especially important when extra people and out-of-the-ordinary materials are in the mix!

Remember to designate a friend or family member as the party photographer. You’re likely to be busy at the most picture-worthy moments, and you need to be in some of those photos, too! When it’s all said and done, snapshots become our most vivid memories of milestone events.
